Brother

On June 25th, 1988 I became a Big Sister for the first time. I finally had a baby brother, not just a doll to play with. (of which had been given in an attempt to "prepare" me for the upcoming addition)

Joseph Ross Moslander would add lessons in responsibility, love and adventure to my life in more ways then I ever knew to expect. And still to this day I look up to him because of who he has grown to become. He's never too loud, and always strong- mentally and physically and spiritually. He lives for the next adventure, the next mountain to climb, and stories to create and then tell. He is the epitome or a man truly wild at heart. He will always be my little brother. I will forever want to "look out for him" and often I have to remind myself that he's not my doll and I can't boss him around. (being bossy is a first-born requirement)

Ross, I love you with all my heart. You push me to look at things differently and challenge me in ways I cannot explain. Thank you for playing with me when we were kids.. I will never forget our garbage burning sessions. I want to be adventurous like you. Happy 22nd birthday, Brother.

“Adventure, with all its requisite danger and wildness, is a deeply spiritual longing written into the soul of a man.”

“Safe? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good.” –C.S. Lewis

“In the heart of every man is a desperate desire for a battle to fight, an adventure to live, and a beauty to rescue.”

  1. You are so correct on everything you say about Ross. And you were a really good big sister. Still are. Love the picture of when you were little. I haven't seen that one for a long time.
