craft room update

Ok you guys. I'm starting to feel like I got myself in to a bigger project than I planned. Isn't that how it always goes? I've made good progress, I feel, however there is still SO much to do! Here's an update:

The 'to-do' list:
Move drums & music stands
Get rest of trash out
Remove carpet
Sweep/dust/scrub walls & floor
Clean window
Paint (floor too?)
Fix hole in ceiling
Come up with a solution for closet
Clean up northeast nook area

See? I can cross some stuff off the list... But let's address something. Mildew and mold is ev-er-y-where. Like behind the nook in the last photo above. Look what I found:

Yes. I know. How could I let this happen. Well, I didn't. But that doesn't matter. It's gross. And I will not even be trying to get rid of that with bleach and Kilz. I WILL be cutting out that part of the wall and replacing it with nice, new, clean sheetrock. Yay! I guess that's another thing to add to the to-do list.

Off to do more work. Happy Mold-cleanup Monday!

three, 3, tres, trois

You know what I just realized? Summer- for me- is just around the corner. As in this Friday is the last day of school. See, I'm not IN school anymore. But I do work at one- making my summers just like the kids. Which I LOVE! (I mean, of course as a responsible adult, I'll work through the summer doing other things. But let's pretend otherwise for now)

You know what I also just realized. I have so many things looming on a loooong to-do list in order to prep for summer. Why is it that I need to have certain things done in order to fully enjoy the beginning of my {fake} summer break? I'm not really sure, either. But thanks for trying to answer that for me.

I've got this other list. Things that are more important than petty to-do lists. Like graduations and grandparents in town. And that basement project I got myself in to. Which of course is at the bottom of the more important list- just to clarify my priorities. Anyway, off to work I must go.

3 days and counting!!
Happy Wednesday, loves!

icky sicky

This is me. Today. A peak in to my whole weekend, actually. I'm sick. And I hate being sick. I'd rather be puking my guts out for a day than have an icky cold for a week. Ah! Make it go away, please!

12.5.12

It's happening.

I've finally become a bit inspired. As opposed to doing it because it just needs to be done. Or has to be done, even. I've been reading iheartorganizing blog- it's amazing and you should definitely check it out! And I'm become inspired. Today I will show you the must-re-do craft room. In fact, it's yet to be a craft room. It used to be an office, and then became a mini swimming pool after a lot of rain one summer. Never been anything since... (no judging, please).

The official BEFORE:

The 'to-do' list:
Move drums & music stands
Get rest of trash out
Remove carpet
Sweep/dust/scrub walls & floor
Clean window
Paint (floor too?)
Fix hole in ceiling
Come up with a solution for closet
Clean up northeast nook area

I better get a move on, right? Happy Saturday to you, and happy cleaning slash organizing to me!

100

I've been pondering how to write this post for a few days. It's nothing big, or anything really important. But it is my 100th blog post. Yay! I've been blogging since 2007, so one hundred maybe isn't that many blogs in what, 4.5 years? But, that's ok. I'm not in any kind of contest :)

For my 100th, I wanted to take you back. {And myself back, for that matter} And reflect on some of my favorite posts over the years :)

This is the fist blog I ever wrote. I was living in Hawaii, working for Youth With A Mission, and we always did a "beach day" for our students on the first day of the Discipleship Training School. I was involuntarily stung by a jellyfish. You should probably read the whole story.

This is the night I got engaged! It was a beautiful May evening... and we got married less than 4 months later :) So in love then {obviously!} and still SO in love!

This little guy was in the post I wrote about some of the mission trips I've been on around the world. I love him dearly and wanted to take him home with me... along with just about every other kid I've met.

In this post I showed you the porch project I did as a surprise for my hubby :) It's so cute- I wish I had all the time in the world to sit and drink coffee out here.

The last post I was reminiscing about didn't contain any photos. But it was all about my concerns, excitement and curiosity in selling items I make. We all know how that turned out- Hello Etsy shop and 5 sales so far! I'm glad I took the leap of faith. It's been a blast creating things with love.

Reading through so many blog post made me realize how much I love writing and sharing with you guys. I know sometimes no one even reads them... But it's nice to have a place where I can at least pretend people are listening ;)

Happy Friday! I have a feeling it's going to be a good one!
